Hope Community Builders (HCB) is a non-profit tax exempt 501(c)(3) corporation. It is registered as a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) with the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development. It is also registered with Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a nonprofit authorized as a second deed mortgagor. The State of Virginia also exempts it from retail and use tax which contributes to the affordability of the homes HCB builds. HCB origin and its service philosophy is from the Mennonite Church. It has a Board of Directors and staff whose only aim is to provide you with affordable housing.
